Wedding Time and Style

We really want everyone to have fun at the wedding and feel comfortable, so when we started planning it we decided to chuck out some of the aspects of weddings that are stressful for the guests and the happy couple.

1. No Church- we want to have the ceremony and the reception in the same place, so once you arrive you are set and ready to enjoy the whole thing

2. No one is late- I'd like to do a cocktail hour before the ceremony to allow everyone time to get there and get ready before the actual ceremony

I'm thinking we could get started late afternoon/early evening have a cocktail hour, 45min-1 hour ceremony and then head straight into the reception.

3. Everyone get's to be with their family and friends- no head table and no single's table

We have a large family and friends from a lot of different places, we think everyone (including the members of the wedding party) will have more fun if they get to sit with their immediate family or the friends they know.

I really want a candle lit ceremony, I know this may be more hassle to pull off and that the photographer will not be amused, but I think it is both beautiful and memorable.

  1. The candle idea sounds beautiful! I'm all for it! And AWESOME cartoon :)

All of the things you listed sound completely thoughtful and generous! remember though - this day is YOURs and Steve's, don't worry too much about pleasing the rest of us, we're all guaranteed to have a blast no matter what! xoxo

  4. I second Kate. It's your day, do what YOU(S&M) want and don't stress about anybody else. These memories will last a lifetime; they should be based on your dreams.
