Color Palette

Okay, so everyone knows I am no designer. I will definitely not be offended when you guys gently steer me away from the truly tacky. I think the main color will be midnight blue, but we are having trouble nailing down other colors we might want. Here are a couple of palettes let me know what you think.

(Blue, Cream and Gold)

(Blue, Cream and brown)

(Blue, butter and maple)

(Blue, cream and green)

(Blue, cream and silver)

(Blue, wheat and brown)

(Blue, silver and orange)-this would be a very deep orange and used in very small amounts

Okay, keep in mind that Steve's first wedding colors were sea foam and something else and that we'll be getting married in October, so we need to find a palette that will mesh well with the floral available.

Wedding Time and Style

We really want everyone to have fun at the wedding and feel comfortable, so when we started planning it we decided to chuck out some of the aspects of weddings that are stressful for the guests and the happy couple.

1. No Church- we want to have the ceremony and the reception in the same place, so once you arrive you are set and ready to enjoy the whole thing

2. No one is late- I'd like to do a cocktail hour before the ceremony to allow everyone time to get there and get ready before the actual ceremony

I'm thinking we could get started late afternoon/early evening have a cocktail hour, 45min-1 hour ceremony and then head straight into the reception.

3. Everyone get's to be with their family and friends- no head table and no single's table

We have a large family and friends from a lot of different places, we think everyone (including the members of the wedding party) will have more fun if they get to sit with their immediate family or the friends they know.

(Unreasonable Bride moment in 5...4...3...2...

I really want a candle lit ceremony, I know this may be more hassle to pull off and that the photographer will not be amused, but I think it is both beautiful and memorable.

The Basics

Oh yuck we've started a blog...

Ok, but we have a pretty good reason. Our friends and family are terrific! We couldn't possibly plan this wedding and stay sane without you. We've already gotten some great suggestions and we know you have tons more. We really want to make sure that we haven't forgotten to share information with anyone and that everyone who cares knows what's going on.

So we're going to blog it. We'll post the details we know and the questions we have and you let us know what you think (honestly if the dress is ugly I want to know now and not at a drunken Christmas party 10 years from now)

The Stuff we've got so far:

Date: Sunday October 10th 2010 (I know I know it's a Sunday, but I'm pretty stuck on this date)

Location: Somewhere in the wilds of Ohio (we have a short list of vendors we are trying to get quotes from that I'll post in the sidebar)

Wedding Party:

Bridesmaids-
1. Jessica Abernathy
2. Kate Macevicz
3. Allyson Bucy
4. Sarah Maple

Groomsmen-
1. Todd Bucy
2. Ryan Bucy
3. John O'Rourke
4. Mark Biggins

Welcome to our blog

Feel free to write down ideas or suggestions. We appreciate any help we can get from you (friends and family).
